Artist Bio

Caitlin Wellner is a Charlotte-based watercolor and oil painter whose work explores the quiet beauty and emotional depth of natural landscapes. Originally from rural Washington, her connection to the outdoors has remained a central influence throughout her life and artistic journey.

After earning her degree from the University of Washington, Caitlin spent a decade in California’s entertainment industry before relocating to Charlotte with her family in 2019. During the pandemic, she began painting as a way to nurture creativity and balance in her daily life. Drawn to the fluidity and immediacy of watercolor, she soon developed a distinctive style that captures atmosphere, movement, and mood through layered washes and expressive color. Her practice later expanded to include oils, allowing her to explore light and texture in new ways.

Caitlin currently studies at the Holt School of Fine Art in Charlotte, NC. Her work has been exhibited locally, including at Nine Eighteen Nine Gallery, the McColl Center, NoCo Arts and Charlotte’s FabFest.

She currently maintains a studio and gallery space with Queen City Art Collective in Pineville, North Carolina — a creative community that fosters collaboration and artistic growth among local artists.
