Artist Bio

Caitlin Wellner is a North Carolina-based watercolor and oil painter whose work explores the relationship between nature, identity, and the female experience. Her colorful, expressive landscapes capture the beauty and quiet magic of the natural world, while her evolving figurative work takes a more provocative turn, exploring feminist themes of domestic labor, objectification, containment, feminine rage, and joy.

Blending humor, bold imagery, and social commentary, Caitlin challenges expectations placed on women and creates space for more complex, unapologetic expressions of womanhood. Whether painting a familiar North Carolina vista or a figure pushing back against societal norms, her work invites viewers to look beyond the surface, question convention, and find beauty in both the peaceful and the uncomfortable.

Caitlin  studied art at the Holt School of Fine Art  & Braitman Studios in Charlotte, NC. Her work has been exhibited locally, including at Nine Eighteen Nine Gallery, the McColl Center, NoCo Arts and Charlotte’s FabFest.

She currently maintains a studio and gallery space with Queen City Art Collective in Pineville, North Carolina — a creative community that fosters collaboration and artistic growth among local artists.
